I need help with the title of a Movie?
Ok so. This may sound random but I have been trying to remember the name of a child hood movie that I used to love.
I am 20 years old if that helps with the time frame.
Basically the movie opens with a young boy living on a farm I guess and it is raining and flooding and storming really badly. His mom tells him to go upstairs and read a book while the adults help try to save things on the farm. (I vaguely remember sandbags). Then the boy starts reading a book and all of a sudden everything turns into a cartoon. He goes on this epic adventure and then ends up back home in real life movie again….
Sorry if this doesn’t make much sense, it’s just killing me to know the name.
I believe this movie came out around the time of the never ending story and the pagemaster…but it is neither of those movies, but it is similar in how it was filmed.
Thanks so much!
This film has animated and live-action segments, and a boy does go from "real life" to being an animated kitten.
Rock-A-Doodle (1991)
IMDb review:
Chanticleer (Glen Campbell) is a rooster responsible for bringing up the sun with his voice. But one night, he gets in a fight with another rooster, and since he forgot to crow, the Sun comes up without him. All the animals notice this, and they laugh and make fun of him. He then leaves the farm, heading to the city. Unfortunately, the sun goes back down and rain comes, causing a horrible flood. Luckily, Edmond (Toby Scott Ganger), a real boy who was turned into a cartoon cat by the Grand Duke (Christopher Plummer), decides to join three other animals, a magpie named Snipes (Eddie Deezen), a mouse named Peepers (Sandy Duncan), and a dog named Patou (Phil Harris), go into the city to bring back Chanticleer. When they get there, they find out that Chanticleer is now a rock star named The King, whose agent is a golf-obsessed fellow named Pinky (Sorrell Booke).
